Over the course of nine years as Senior Graphic Designer at TELUS World of Science / TELUS Spark, I worked on seven annual reports.
This was the first annual report and the theme of the report was “Building Minds”. The report was published at the beginning of the formal development phase leading up to the opening of Calgary’s new science centre on October 29, 2011, TELUS Spark.
I designed the layouts and illustrations. I used loose, hand-drawn sketches to convey that the science centre was in the early conceptual stages of development and used bright colours to identify each section of the document and to communicate a sense fun and optimism.
