
I worked closely with the Olds College Director of Marketing and the manager of Broncos Athletics to create a new brand identity for Broncos Athletics. The new look is reflected on a wide variety of team assets, including new uniforms for basketball, women’s hockey, rodeo, soccer and volleyball teams, which account for approximately 160 student-athletes.
The Broncos’ new blue and green colour scheme is a departure from the historical crimson, gold and black scheme which had been in place for more than a decade. Olds College of Agriculture & Technology that was reimagined and launched in 2022, and now the Broncos becomes an instantly recognizable part of a branded house.
The logo features a white horse’s head as an homage to the Indigenous cultures whose land Olds College occupies and as a connection to myth and legend where they are used as symbols of strength and courage. The wordmark uses the same typeface as the Olds College logo, but with a heavier weight and italicized style to create the impression of movement and sport. Some characters are sliced and angular to create a fierceness and sense of motion.
